Washing & Care Guide
Keep your Sir W. Merino garments looking sharp for years to come.
Washing
Merino wool doesn't need constant washing. It's naturally odor-resistant and antibacterial.
When it’s time:
-
Dry clean or machine wash cold on a gentle wool cycle
-
Use a mild, wool-safe detergent
-
Avoid bleach and fabric softeners
-
Wash with similar, soft fabrics—no rough towels or denim
Drying
Never tumble dry.
Heat can damage or shrink Merino fibers.
Instead:
-
Gently reshape after washing
-
Lay flat to dry—not in direct sunlight
-
Don’t hang wet garments (it can stretch them)
Wrinkles & Ironing
Merino naturally resists wrinkles, but for a touch-up:
-
Use a cool iron on the wool setting
-
Or simply steam while you shower—it works wonders
Storing Your Merino
-
Fold, don’t hang—especially heavier pieces
-
Keep away from direct sunlight
-
Store clean and dry
-
For long-term storage, use a cotton bag (not plastic)
What About Pilling?
Some light pilling is natural—especially with friction.
To fix:
-
Gently use a fabric comb or pilling razor
-
Never pull pills by hand
-
Over time, proper washing will reduce future pilling
